RCA DVR40 wont connect to TiVo via Vonage

Most posts that concern this are a few yrs old. I'm still hanging on to this box as the kids dvr. I can get the DVR to connect via a "Test Connection" but when it trys to make the DVR service update it fails. I did see a post that said to place *99,1212XXXXXXX,,,,, in the prefix line which I have not tried as of yet. Just wondering if anyone out there has any updated info. TIA!

Nothing has changed.

The only reason to connect is if there is a firmware update available. I'm guessing that there isn't one available.

The DirecTivo's have to call in every so many days no matter if there is a firmware update or not.

If they don't call, you get a nag screen but that can be ignored.
