Time for more random thoughts!

1. Graham Harrell is a BEAST!

2. TBS definitely had a much better postseason than last year- only one series sweep and a heartstopping ALCS

3. Here's how bad are the Chiefs are, IMO: you know how Sandra runs triathlons? If she ran against the Chiefs defense, after what I saw the Titans do yesterday, she'd run for 300 yards in the first half. You'd think she was the second coming of Jim Brown!

4. If New England doesn't beat Denver tonight, would this be the worst sports weekend ever for Bill?

5. Who's more likely to run the table in a good way: Tulsa or Ball State?

6. It feels like it's been 20 years since the 49ers were good.

7. Here's an interesting fact: the Philadelphia Eagles have made the playoffs the last six times in an NFL season coincided with an election (1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008; also, their title came in 1960 and made a Super Bowl in the 1980 seasom)

8. Is this stretch of Lion football since 2001 worse than Tampa Bay's streak of double-digit losses from 1983-1996? I say no; at least the Lions have better unis. :D

9. Am I the only one who thinks the Colts could get humiliated by the Titans on Monday night?

10. Why don't the Dolphins and Redskins EVER wear the colored unis at home?

11. The NFL has a new 'History of the Cleveland Browns' DVD coming out this week. I'm sure HD MM is salivating at that.

12. The Cleveland Browns may not have a great record so far, but they have more heart, effort and dignity than the Cowboys have shown this year.

13. John Fox has saved his job status this year

14. Are these Cowboys as dysfunctional as the New York Knicks or not?

15. After seeing the stats and highlights from the Seattle/Tampa Bay game, I can't blame John Madden for taking a rest!

16. The Atlanta Falcons are thinking to themselves, "If the Rays can go from pathetic to pennant-winners, why not us?"

17. When was the last time the Baltimore Orioles were decent? There's another baseball team that has gone from proud to pathetic.

18. Philadelphia and Tampa Bay have an interesting history when it comes to football (four playoff matchups) and hockey (two playoff series)- let's hope this series is as interesting as those!

19. If Tennessee plays Buffalo for the AFC Championship, how bad would the ratings be? :D

20. On my fave five of group members, I have HD MM, Sandy, BillD, Jimbo, but I'm deciding between mccoy or Paul Wozniak as the fith and final member.

21. A few days ago, I played a college football game on Sega Genesis and put up some ridiculous numbers:

Iowa State 184
Washington 127

Washington
1153 Passing Yards, 57 Rushing Yards- 1210 Total Yards

Iowa State
1525 Passing Yards, 305 Rushing Yards- 1830 Total Yards

Quarterbacks
Iowa State- 21 Touchdown Passes, 1525 Passing Yards
Washington- 15 Touchdown Passes, 1153 Passing Yards

Wide Recievers
Washington
#19- 14 Receptions, 534 Yards, 8 Touchdowns
#22- 6 Reception, 205 Yards, 3 TD's
#82- 10 Receptions, 207 Yards, 2 TD's

Iowa State
#88- 5 Receptions, 246 Yards, 4 Touchdowns
#1- 6 Receptions, 254 Yards, 1 Touchdown
#81- 18 Receptions, 970 Yards, 16 Touchdowns

Iowa State Running Back
#28- 293 Yards, 5 Touchdowns

It all went downhill after Tony Tarasco couldn't out-catch Jeffrey Maier. That was when the true colors of Peter Angelos surfaced. Us Marylanders have suffered ever since.

3. Heck, I could probably SWIM though them!

6. So true. I grew up watching Montana and Young dominate the 4PM games...seems like a while now.

7. Did they NOT make the playoffs all those other seasons?

9. The Colts seem like a crapshoot from week to week. Still, I'm not sold on the Titans just yet.

10. Great question.

11. Any truth to the rumor that the DVD will be sold in Baltimore first? :p

14. Different levels of dysfunctional. Letting Isiah Thomas run an organization slowly and steadily into the ground had to be seen to be believed. And Jessica has certainly remained in the background this year...

17. They were actually decent for long stretches this year. They held their own for a while in a very difficult division. Still, Oriole fans must be disheartened after all their years of success. I mean, it's not like Baltimore is Philadelphia or anything!!!

19. Football is different from baseball, it's more of a national sport and it's greatest appeal comes from the gambling aspect. Ratings will be fine as long as there is a pointspread.

20. Lots of Buckeye fans in that group!

Time for more random thoughts!

1. Graham Harrell is a BEAST!

Yes he is. :up

2. TBS definitely had a much better postseason than last year- only one series sweep and a heartstopping ALCS

Too bad they didn't deserve it though.

3. Here's how bad are the Chiefs are, IMO: you know how Sandra runs triathlons? If she ran against the Chiefs defense, after what I saw the Titans do yesterday, she'd run for 300 yards in the first half. You'd think she was the second coming of Jim Brown!

I have no doubt Sandra could do it. :up

4. If New England doesn't beat Denver tonight, would this be the worst sports weekend ever for Bill?
Nothing... and I mean nothing, will ever compare to losing game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. That was the night I started buying into "the curse".

5. Who's more likely to run the table in a good way: Tulsa or Ball State?

That's a tough one, I'll get back to you on that.

6. It feels like it's been 20 years since the 49ers were good.

When I first started following the NFL 1976-77, they were worse than they are now. In between though...........one of the greatest teams of all time!

8. Is this stretch of Lion football since 2001 worse than Tampa Bay's streak of double-digit losses from 1982-1996? I say no; at least the Lions have better unis. :D

I still think the Cardinals over the last 70 years have been the worst.

9. Am I the only one who thinks the Colts could get humiliated by the Titans on Monday night?

I think the Colts will win. They're more desperate.

10. Why don't the Dolphins and Redskins EVER wear the colored unis at home?

In the Dolphins case, it's because of the heat (if you've noticed the Dolphins do wear their aqua jerseys for night games). As for the Redskins, I heard once it's because they were copying the Cowboys.

11. The NFL has a new 'History of the Cleveland Browns' DVD coming out this week. I'm sure HD MM is salivating at that.

Nothing wrong with seeing a lot of Jim Brown.

12. The Cleveland Browns may not have a great record so far, but they have more heart, effort and dignity than the Cowboys have shown this year.

Agreed. :up

13. John Fox has saved his job status this year

IMO, Fox is a very underrated coach. And Jake Delhomme is a very underrated QB.

14. Are these Cowboys as dysfunctional as the New York Knicks or not?

I'd like to say so, but keeping it real.......no, not even close.

15. After seeing the stats and highlights from the Seattle/Tampa Bay game, I can't blame John Madden for taking a rest!

I'm sure like most of America, he slept right through it.

16. The Atlanta Falcons are thinking to themselves, "If the Rays can go from pathetic to pennant-winners, why not us?"

I admit, I grossly underrated them. You go, Matt Ryan! :up

17. When was the last time the Baltimore Orioles were decent? There's another baseball team that has gone from proud to pathetic.

It's too bad. From the late '60's through the mid '80's there wasn't a more consistent team in baseball.

19. If Tennessee plays Buffalo for the AFC Championship, how bad would the ratings be? :D

While I think the Titans are good (they will again be on top of my rankings :D), IMO the Steelers and Bills will be playing for the AFCC.

10. Why don't the Dolphins and Redskins EVER wear the colored unis at home?

Personally I prefer the Redskins with white jereseys and burgandy pants. The all white look is no good on them. The Dolphins do wear their aqua jerseys for night games. The Cowboys are a team that usually wears white at home too. Why did the Rams wear white yesterday? It was confusing to tune in and see the team in white kicking the team in blue's ass and then realize that it was the Rams who were ahead. :D

13. John Fox has saved his job status this year

:D:D:D

It's nice to see teams like Carolina and Tennessee get rewarded for sticking by their coaches.

14. Are these Cowboys as dysfunctional as the New York Knicks or not?

Not by a long shot.

19. If Tennessee plays Buffalo for the AFC Championship, how bad would the ratings be? :D

Football ratings are usually strong regardless of who's playing. See Green Bay and Indianapolis.

What makes a team so hated by fans and others?

Who's the biggest NFL disappointment so far this season?
