This has been going on for a few weeks now but I figured I'd let you all in on it since I've already snagged what I need. If you haven't already noticed the prices by now anyway...
Radio Shack paired optical digital audio + composite video (coax RCA) cables are real cheap right now: 3 ft. $7.97, 12 ft. $9.97
These are easily separatable to end up with one optical cable and one coax RCA cable. I've bought a few of these and they work very nicely--used for digital audio at least, where pretty much anything will deliver excellent sound with no breakups. Currently I'm using 5 optical (through fully loaded clearanced $9.97 Radio Shack rotary selector) and 2 coax cables in my digital audio setup.
BTW, I also scored some RG-6 quad-shield cable from them a few weeks ago for $0.12 per foot. Those guys pretty much know me on a first name basis now.
