I had Bose in my 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. It was the only Bose product I ever owned. While my friends would try to sell me on the Bose 901 and 501 speakers, I found them to be dead at anything over 14 KHz. They had their sound and like the PC vs. Mac, or Ford vs. Chevy ideologies, Bose vs. (practically any other speaker manufacturer) was one where the proponents loved their Bose speakers.
Nowadays, Bose has branched out into more systems like AV receivers and powered speaker docks. My dad bought a one of the first Wave table radios which still works and sounds reasonable for such a small package. But for $500 in 1990s $$$, it had better!
R.I.P., Dr. Bose. Thanks for thinking outside the speaker box.
