R15......I like it!.

Well it's been over a week now since I became a new R15 user.This is my first DVR
and I like it.My first use found the guide to be slow but I reformatted the DVR and that solved that problem.I think this DVR has some really great features like the 90 minute live buffer.Having dual tuners and the hard drive space remaining meter
is another great feature.Color logos is a nice feature and I love the light show that
goes on in the front panel when you give it a command with the remote.It has been flawless to record what I have had it do.The temperature activated fan in the R15-500 is also a nice feature and keeps it quiet.So my first DVR experience has been a good one and has been an asset to my viewing pleasure of my Premier package.

I do not have a R-15 but I believe the HR20-700 HD DVR is based on the R-15 initially.

Thanks Jimbo.Reviews are better for the HR20 which I believe has better features
than the R15.From what I've red the HR20 is Directv software.Where the R15 is NDS.I was able to get it free with the"special offer" online.I also know there has been trouble with the software on the R15.But maybe they have got it fixed cause
my R15-500 has been running pretty smooth.

I'm glad all is running smoothly for you.

I think alot has to do with exactly WHAT people are expecting these units to do.
As for my HR20-700, I am not as finicky as some are.
If it records properly and when it should and rec's all channels and picks up HD, those are the things it is designed to do.

I am not to worried about whether it take .5 or .67 to run thru a FF funtion as some others are. (just an example)
