Lately I've been answering the phone "Dominoes Pizza, would you like the $5 medium pepperoni offer?". :-D
Then I block the number in voip.
But what if someone ordered the pizza?

they have the right to call you. you are not protected from the due not call list.
.. and still they call .. one more call from them today ... one more report to the FTC.
In my experience, the majority of these calls come in around 7 pm or so. So he may very well be out all day, then he gets home and has to deal with telemarketing phone calls. It would irritate me as well.I think you are right when you asked to be taken off the list then they should stop calling you. However, it's threads like this that just crack me up because if you are home enough to be getting all these calls then really you need to be getting out. Personally people in this world let the little things bother them so much and make a big deal out of NOTHING.
I mean how hard is it just to hang up the phone? If you weren't home all the time you wouldn't be getting all the calls.
Just my opinion. You do what you think is best.!
The last few calls I got were ...

I work from home - so going out when I am supposed to be working isn't really an option, i'm amazed at how much my complaining seems to anger the fan boys, I would have thought they they could have found another hobby or gone out of the house a little bit more rather than spend the time in these forums making excuses for Dish.
As I have said in the past - the complaining does not bother me even a little bit ... in fact i quite enjoy doing it ... I'm quite happy making a report to the FTC each and every time I get a call from them ... 30 seconds on my part may result in an extra $10k fine for Dish ...
I'm willing to do it as often as it takes to get something done ... and i'm happy to report that I have had a couple of offers of help via PM as a direct result from this thread from people who seem as though they have the authority to get something done. (Thanks to those people who offered to help - I really do appreciate you taking your time to help me get this fixed)
This means the thread was indeed worthwhile and if you complain consistently and persistently enough in the right places, you may well get results.
Had I "found another hobby", "gotten out of the house more", or "ignore it there is nothing you can do" my problem would not have gone away.
Hopefully this will be the last time I will need to post on this thread, and this will be the last time I will need to endure attacks from people who seem to be insisting that I am the one in the wrong here ... not Dish.
So I was in the middle of switching VoIP providers when this thread started. My new provider has a much more extensive set of call filtering options. I was experimenting with the rules today and figured out I can forward certain numbers to a 'hunt group'. It is designed to allow you to forward important calls, but its also possible to forward telemarketers to other telemarketers.
I might have to experiment a little more. :-D
