If someone walked up to you and said you can choose 1 of these 2 for free... Openbox S10 or microHD which would you take?

Reason I ask is my eBay bucks are about to come reach that price point. :D

Not sure if I'm "power user" but..regular user who likes reliability. MicroHD, hands down. Installed mine, still on original FW update, recorder works fine, clock keeps time, reliable....and more!

Lizards choice: see if you can read my mind :)

Ha ha ha
How many threads have there been in the last month or two with pretty much the same question?
I can't find any compelling reason to consider but the one box.
(I already have & use a Western Digital media player, and much like component stereo, I prefer to change out individual pieces when needed.)

iPhone 4

i would say your a pwr user if you dont just put up a dish to 97 and watch the same chans for language or religions reasons... not that anything is wrong with that but to be a power user you should go in to every menu option and use it!

I have both and my S10 has not been hooked up in over a month now...so that should tell ya..;)

MicroHD hands down.

I had a S10......but that damn deer jumped out while I was coming over a hill and..........OH...you mean an Openbox S10 ;)

The Openbox S10 I've read about them overheating. I had one for about 2 weeks and sold it
The Micro is a solid receiver and does more than the S10 does.....and it has US support if there are issues or maybe getting features added.

The Micro was great when it first came out......now its amazing with the minor tweaks that SatelliteAV has added to it

(and I'm not saying that because I did get mine for no cost as a beta tester....and on the grounds I would do an honest review....I'm saying that because this is the 1st receiver in probably 4 years that I didnt want to pull out what little hair I have left while trying to use it)

p.s. Tony, did not know that you got boxes to test, pretty good info considering cause they could sway you by what they give or not give depending on what you say, thanks for the honest answer

Iceberg: Deer whistles! They really do work. I would hate to think about hitting one with my S10, lol, 204K miles and still going.

Once in a while I get an item to test out.
Use to have a sponsor here who wanted to send me stuff in exchange "for a favorable review" and didnt like when I said "no I'll give an honest review". :)

Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Only have 10 dishes! :D

Sent from my DROIDX using SatelliteGuys

I have 7, so I am little above a 50% power user

My S10 works great. I must have the right one. No overheating, no voltage issue when using a HH motor, no lockups on certain bitrates.

I REALLY would like the option of seeing what freqs are hot on a satellite as posted in the microHD thread (hint hint). If they comes around, im SOLD

My Openbox S10 was just killed. I'm not happy that Openbox killed my receiver, so I'm not going to mess with the Openbox brand anymore. None of my money will go to them. I just ordered a MicroHD from SatelliteAV's website, and I can't wait to get it. Screw Openbox.

well at one time I did but now I'm down to 1 dish and 1 receiver being used alot :)

To think at one time I had 5 dishes on the roof and the Toroidal T90 set up with like 14 LNB's and a dish for 123W going to a bunch of receivers....then Equity went belly up and motorized setups worked better :)
