quick ipad question

last Monday Me and Mom, My Brother went to a casino in NY, and i got IPAD do they play like Kindle eBooks? or do i need a Kindle? thanks

Yes just go to the app store and download the kindle reader app. Then you just sign in with your Amazon account info and your good to go.

Like what? I gave my old kindle 3G to my dad when I got an iPad. All my old kindle books work fine in the iPad kindle app and every book I have wanted to buy since switching has been available. The only difference I have seen so far is that the free books you get once a month don't show up unless you are using an actual kindle but they are all still available for purchase on my iPad.

It really depends on the publisher. There are some that don't allow their books or magazines to be used within the application. I have seen more magazines not be allowed on the application. Just wanted to make sure he knew that there were some items that wouldn't work.

Hmm. I've never bought a magazine from the kindle store. Like I said every book I have tried works fine on my iPad.

Another difference is that the online selection of books at the public libraries have some books that they only let you borrow on the Kindle and not the Kindle app. I bought my wife the Kindle just because of this. She had many books she wanted to check out that she wasn't able to because of running the app instead of having an actual Kindle.

Not that the App is bad overall but there is a difference between having a Kindle and just running the application.
