Echostar 8 is the other satellite at 77° West. Quetzsat1 is still at 67° West.

I was wondering about this as the last that nelson1 had listed as it still being there.

Echo 1 is aimed at Mexico. Although it is a circular bird, 12486H 20000, which has promos and a music video channel ITC, is a linear tp. I can get over 90%Q on my pansat 2500 and a 30".

12486 is in the DBS band (12.2-12.75) so it is circular polarity

It's probably pretty easy to get it with a linear lnbf in Mexico, since all channels are left polarized and there are no right polarized signals on Echostar 1 to cause interference.

Signal about 70% with 24" dish and circular lnb.

Hey!

Anyone knows why DISH NETWORK is keeping this 77w bird "alive" with Dish Network programming?
It has got The Networks in HD, and +83 Standard Definition TV channels from the U.S....

I mean I can understand that DN is parking its Mexican Programming for DISH NETWORK Mexico... but why is broadcasting American TV when the New EAST ARC LNB , call the Dish Network DPH Pro Hybrid Eastern Arc Twin LNB has no 77w orbit on its design ..?

Is it because DISH NETWORK filed something with the FCC and now they have to "provide" some sort of American TV programming until the bird is retired?..
