Questions, Questions, & more Questions

It should work with the 1000.4 lnb anyway because it has 3 outputs and the input for a wing dish. One output to port 1, 2 to 2 and 3 to 3 of the 34 switch.

DP Plus LNB's (like the 1000.2 and 1000.4 Integrated LNB's) are not made to be used with a non-Plus switch like the SW34. It even says as much in the 1000.2 manual. At work, I set up a showroom display with functional receivers using a W-bracket, three DP duals, and four SW34's to feed fourteen tuners.

I could have used two DPP44's and an Integrated LNB on the 1000.2, sure, but a DPP44 switch is four times more expensive for our office to buy than a SW34.

It's a matter of cost, really, and we can't really say much about this setup unless the OP posts much more specific details.

Do you watch all six HDTV's at once? It was mentioned early in the thread, but it bears repeating. You CAN mirror your high def signal on two TVs from one receiver, since both component and HDMI are simultaneously active. The UHF remote in the room without the receiver will change the channel, etc..

6 HDTVs 6 different things on each TV...no mirroring...that brings me back to the older satellites of yesteryear and I hated every tv in the house having to be on the same channel...like me trying to watch porn in my room when my parents cound just turn on the living room tv and see what i was watching... :D

Another question... The deal breaker for me is Fox News...I can't find it on the Dish Network website...is it even offered and if so, in which of the packages?

So let me get this straight. If I order Turbo HD Bronze Fox News HD is not included? Man I thought Dish Network was going to be the answer to my prayers but it just keeps getting worse and worse. I called them the other day and they told me they couldn't give me 4 211Vips :( but if Fox News is unavailibe in the Turbo HD Bronze package Dish Network is gonna be a no-go for me...

As I understand it, you must order Classic Bronze to get FNC. I'm a Turbo Gold subscriber, to which I add Platinum HD, and I have no FNC or FBN. And it sucks. If I had Classic Silver + Gold HD, I'd have both.

So I just ordered Dish Network. I told the rep I wanted 2 VIP211s and 2 VIP222s to save $14.00 per month in leasing fees (I orginally wanted 6 VIP211s but saw I could save per month with going with a dual tuner so I did.) A few questions tho... The figure I had was 35.99 per month for the first 6 months. He had 33.99 but he had some kinda DVR included. I told him I didn't want a DVR and he said something like "we'll you would be saving a few dollars per month if you just got a DVR and thats why you figure and my figure didn't match because you didn't factor in the savings of having a DVR." So I figured there'd be a catch after 6 months so I reinterated myself and told him NO DVRS. Did I shoot myself in the foot? I know the savings arent that great by getting a DVR 2-3 dollars per month. But if its cheaper to get more, why not get a DVR? Can someone break it down for me why it is cheaper with a DVR? Are they replacing the standard 7.00 per month for an HD receiver with the 5.95 DVR fee and thats were the savings come in? Also when the installer comes, is he going to listen to me at all as far as the placing of the satellite dish (I want it on a certain eve of the house)? And also theres a room that is getting the bare coxial from one of the dual tuner receivers that is going to have someone sleeping in there...can I tell him to just put the coxial through the existing cable company drilled hole and I just screw it into the back of the TV later or are they going to insist they hook it up? And my final question for this post, whats the deal with having the receivers hooked up to either a network connection or a phone line, what is that for, and if I don't connect them whats the downside and will I get charged more? Thank you guys so much for your help...you're input has really been appreciated...

I am new and trying to come up to speed here, but I was under the impression that 4 TV connections (HDTV or SDTV) was the limit that DISH would lease to an individual. Were some of these purchased or all leased? My understanding is that the 222's are 2 each, and the 211's are one each = 6 total. The reason for my question is a little different in that I would like a 722 and two 222's, but was told that is a no go, unless I purchase one of the 222's.
