Questions For Charlie Tonight

Ok. I know us here at this site we have more important things going on tonight (like a Christmas party @ 7:30 central time here tonight) I am going to make a plea for everyone to call in and ask Charlie " Do you have any plans to launch any national hd before the new satellites go up. If so, what are those plans"? Some one should be able to get in and ask.

I'd ask: Charlie, I believed you when you told NHL fans they'd be very happy with the CI HD coverage this year. Directv covers 7-8 major HD markets more than Dish Network. I can't be happy knowing Directv customers are happier than I am. Is there something you can do to compensate for my pain? Such as refund my NHLCI prorated costs so I can switch to directv?

That would be a "softball question" - since they just moved two HD PPV channels and replaced them with USA-HD and SciFi-HD...

In the past, when asked: " DirecTV has ____ channel not on E* and I need that channel " , Charlie has always answered (quote): " Then subscribe to DirecTV. "

This "kicking your ass" perception is ONLY amongst Satellite TV Fanboys. Charlie has always referred to cable as the competition.

Recently, my mother-in-law (an E* subscriber) asked me "so what IS this HD thing, anyway?"

I would be willing to bet that a minority of DirecTV subscribers know that DirecTV added " USA-HD " and " SciFi-HD ", let alone the public as a whole.

1) Earlier this year you talked about adding new HD satellite capacity. What are your plans now.

2) What new channels are you planning for the first half of the year.

Avoid specifically mentioning DirecTv.
