I currently have a 622 w/EHD and a 211 w/EHD as a dvr. I've been thinking about upgrading to a 1 Hopper/1 Joey system for a while and am just about ready to pull the trigger, despite the fact that this fee increase is just around the corner. But, I do have a few questions that I haven't been able to find definitive answers for. Hopefully some of you will be able to help out:

Does the HWS require two ethernet connections for the sling to work?

Can the Joey connect to the Hopper via wifi or ethernet? If so can you move the Joey back and forth from coax to wifi/ethernet?

Can I move the Joey around the house? To different coax or ethernet drops? Can I have output from the splitter going to drops start aren't hooked up yet?

Any way to save my 211 dvr recordings?

3 tuners plus ota. No ptat. Can I record 4 programs plus play back 2?

Hopper w/sling - does it need HIC?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Fran

1. No. One ethernet or wireless connection is all that is needed.

2. I don't think so, or at least not supported. It connects via the coax.

3. If you have enough drops I don't see why not.

4. don't know

5. Yes.

6. No, Hopper w/sling has its own wired and wireless network connection builtin.

In addition to number 5, with PTAT enabled, you can record 6 programs (including 4 networks) and watch 2 recordings.

"Any way to save my 211 dvr recordings?"

NO. the 211 was creature of its' own in terms of DVR . You could always real time record to DVD.

One 211k is allowed on a Hopper account, but I believe it requires an RV account.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think I could keep the 211 recordings, but was hoping there might be a way to transfer them to another device or something. I doubt I would keep it on the account, especially with the fees going up, as it would defeat my purpose, which is to have all recordings in one place and accessible to both TV's. I've been trying to duplicate the recordings I am really interested in keeping on the external drive of my 622, but don't think I'll be able to get them all. If I'm going to do this, may as well do it sooner than later.

Thanks again,
Fran
