From what I hear, it will replace the Sixaxis.

Sony will retail the Dual Shock 3 at the same price as the Sixaxis, but will simultaneously discontinue the Sixaxis. Same as they did when they came out with the original Dual shock for the PS1 and discontinued the PS1's original controller.
