Correct but you can say the same thing for both of the receivers. They both have different features that make them better than the other. It all comes down to what features you want. As for performance that is very subjective as I have had very little performance issues with my systems. The only major performance issue is with channel surfing which I don't do. I use the guide to see what is on instead of just changing channels.

To be even more fair E* is only charging $155 for a 722k with the OTA module. That can record 3 live programs at once.

I was talking for the hardware not the lease and mirror fees. They charge full price for the hardware unless you can talk a rep or talk to the CEO office to see if you can get them to allow you to lease past the 4 receivers. Isn't full price of the 722K $400+?
If you are a good standing customer, They will lease more then 4 receivers. Its called a 5 Star upgrade. The CSR can tell you whether you quailify. You don't need to talk to CEO. But You must have a Valid Credit card on File , Just incase you cancel service , and decide to keep E* equipment.

That is new then. The reason I left Dish for Directv two years ago was because they would not lease a 5th tuner for me. It was also well documented at the time that most people were unable to get more than 4 tuners leased. If they are allowing it now it is pretty smart on their part.
They are allowing , But Not like D* allows. Credit score, Payment History with E* I think plays a role.
If they did this two years ago I may have still been a customer today as Credit score or payment history is not a problem in my case.
And I did not pay anything for 2 HR 20 boxes. Everyone has a different situation
