question for those who got there Hopper today?

i set up appointment last night for the installer to come today, they told me he would b here betwen 12&3 oclock he installer just called and said it will b after 4oclock when he gets here. but on the phone last night Dish said it will take 3hours to install ekkkkk he will b here tell 8 tonight NOW did it take 3hours for u guyz who got hooked up??? thx

no, mine went much faster than 3 hours. he also replaced the front part of the dish with the little plastic caps on it (I think LNB) or something.

I had 1 hopper 1 joey put it. all my connections are in the basement and I have hard wired Ethernet right to the back of the box. he also aimed the dish to bump up my signal strength. good installer. the first node he had was bad so that took a little longer as well

Mine took about 2 hours.

Mine did take 3 hrs, but there were a lot of problems getting the new software to download from the right Sat (my installer was also pretty clueless). Yours could go a lot smoother. Depends on how much needs to be done and how good the installer is.

Hmm well i had coffer waiting for when the installer got here but now i better have dinner lol lollollol

I should add that this was his second install LOL, so he was a pro

I did my own upgrade and it took me 5 1/2 hours by the time the receivers were activated. I had issues getting them activated otherswise it was a pretty easy install.

What kind of tip for the installer is appropriate?

I generally gave them $20.

One guy I regretted giving the tip to. He came back to reaim; didn't get a tip second time around.
