Question about SL3 and H24 (tailgating)

Recently did our first trip with the 18" round dish and all went well, I just think Id rather go ahead with the HD dish.

For a SL3 direct to an H24 in an outdoor tailgate setup, do I need bband converter or a PI?

If you have a legacy lnb then you need the bbc with no power inserter. If you have a swm lnb, you need the power inserter, but no bbc.

I reckon, for tailgating simplicity, I should go with the cheaper model and just get a BBC. One less cable to deal with and one less item to power. BBC is only $5

I would get the same setup as what you have at home. It makes moving the H24 back and forth much easier, you won't have to go through the setup each time.

I have a SL5 SWM at home, but, this H24 only comes out 3 or 4 times a year at home, so it is no big deal to do setup. I just wanted to go from 18" to SL3 to get HD nationals. Live in Alabama, tailgating in Florida.

When we were down there tailgating last weekend and watching ESPN, a guy in the next Rv let me hook up to his SL5 switch on top of his RV and the PQ was night and day, even on a 40" lcd. So, I of course had to keep up lol

If your Florida location is out of the spotbeam for your home locals, you won't get them in Florida. What's your home zip, and the zip for your tailgate.
RV accounts get the national network feeds, not available to you. But you will get ESPN etc.....

Yeah, I can't get the locals, but not worried about that. We have OTA built into the RV, so if it is a local game I can swap coax feeds.

I agree, go with the easier one, the one that needs less connections to run and less things to forget.
