I am planning on upgrading to hd through directv soon and was searching ebay to check out used hd recievers when I stumbled upon a listing for an mpeg-4 black reciever. Does anyone know if this reciever is available, what the model number is, and how do I get it so that I dont have to upgrade again for awhile.

I have heard rumblings of Black Directv recievers but I have never seen one.....the current Mpeg4 HD recievers are the H20, and the HR20....with the HR20 being a HD DVR...also you will need a 5lnb dish (the at9 or slimline) with those setup properly you should be pretty much set for a long time and shouldnt need an upgrade.
God would I love the color black to come back as an available color option. I am so sick of all the CE manufacturers with their cheap, ulgy-@$$ silver/chrome looks.

10000% agree, my onkyo and Directv reciever would look great next to each other, with just lights showing through, now if only I could get a black 360 plus black HD DVD add on.
Can someone tell me if you can still get updates, use the interactive features, and the DVR function still work correctly on the new HD DVR without it being plugged into a phone line? I heard the phone line is nly to order ppv...
All the updates and DVR stuff comes over the data stream, not the phone line

I believe I saw the black as an option on thier web page, either that or they were showing one, not sure which, that was a week ago I think.
