On Satmex 6 at 12090 V MAC-TV is shown at DVB encryption but on Galaxy 25 at 12.122 H it is shown at FTA. Does this DVB just mean it is higher resolution or that I need a Direct TV box to decode it?

MAC-TV is not encrypted on any of the two satellites you mentioned, DVB means Digital Video Broadcast, that is the format a FTA receiver decodes.

On Lyngsat the first entry of transponder lists the video format, on Satmex, MAC-TV is the only channel on that transponder.

MAC-TV is also free on Galaxy 3C at 95.0°W frequency: 12050 H.

OK thanks, I wonder why Lyngsat lists video encryption as F or FTA and other times as DVB if DVB is the format FTA receivers decode..

The data box title is:

Provider Name
Channel Name

If they know the provider they list the format there, if the channel does not have a provider, could be for a few reasons, then the video format is listed next to the channel.

I know thats kind of annoying but thats the way they have set it up.
