Question about HBOGO (NOW)

So if a program goes live at 9PM EST (Game of Thrones) would I be able to start watching it immediately or do I have to wait for the program to finish before I can watch it?

The reason I am asking is because I am thinking about dropping HBO on DirecTV and just get the web subscription, plus it has a free month...
