question about caller ID

Will a 2 hopper/1 joey setup only need 1 phone connection for caller ID on all TVs, or does each hopper and joey need to be connected locally to a phone line?

I know with 1 Hopper, 2 Joey setup one telephone connection at the Hopper buys you Caller ID at all 3 locations.
