I have a directv dvr r15. I recently moved the location of the box and found out I did not have enough cable to reach. I went to purchase new cable and thought that since I would be moving to HD soon, I would splurge and get 2 50' RG6 quad-shielded cables. Big mistake. After fighting with my DVR for about 3 hours, I temporarily moved everything back and connected to the old cable to make sure the new cable wasn't the problem...it worked like a charm. So, I thought it must be the new quad cables. Tried about everything..UNTIL... I hooked the cables straight from the mutliswitch to the receiver and it worked fine. My setup prior to hooking straight was: 2 new quad cables from switch to a wall plate, then two REGULAR coax cables to the receiver. Is the problem because of the two regular cables OR the wall plate...or both? Any info is GREATLY appreciated.
Also, when re-doing my setup...I noticed I am not getting a signal on Tuner 2. When I switch cables..same thing, like it is not recognizing the tuner 2.
Thanks in advance!
