QAM transpoder frequencies?

Dish Network / EchoStar calls it a "Q-Box" and here are a couple links regarding it...

The concept basically converts a complex or MDU originally wired for cable TV (single coax with splitters, etc) and allows the same infrastructure to be used for Dish Network satellite. It's kind of a neat solution if you think about it.

Q-Box is a receiver part [QAM to xPSK] of the transmodulation process, it's well known here.

So, is one module ( of max eight in one chassis ) convert all channels of one transponder into one QAM channel ? Hmm, perhaps I didn't find in that paper the point, but one QAM channel is 6 MHz, so using 64QAM mode will it squeeze all 30 Mbps from one sat tpn ?

you can do 32 trnsponders in just 192 megahartz when convert from qpsk to qam.

That's impressive - 1000 MHz of 32 sat muxes transforming into 192 MHz with 64QAM modulation, imagine if 256QAM will be used. A few sats could be covered.

thing is noise more easy to control in cable wires so can use qam but qam not good for satellite transmits because too much noise and signal too weak. much of qpsk data is to deal with noise
