I'm new to Dish & have a question: I have a hunting camp about 30 miles away from where I live (with only a TV with regular antenna.) I was curious...if I purchase a used receiver & satellite dish off of eBay, can I install it at my camp & bring my current "card" & receive all of the same channels? I know in the past, these kinds of things were possible, but I wasn't sure if I can do this anymore.

Thanks for the feedback!

What you described won't work. The card and receiver are married together and never the two shall part. You can however install another dish at the camp and take your current receiver (with its card) and view all your channels.

Another question....
If I was buy a standard Dish 500 (dish) for my camp, would my current receiver (VIP622) be compatible with it?

Or you can tune the Dish 500 into getting 119 and 129 and get most of the channells that way. But I would just grab a new 1000.2 from Dishstore.net and go that route. Then pack the 622 and settle in for some great HD. Are you taking an HDTV to camp too...
