Hi guys,

I have been running this unit for awhile now and just recently my receiver started to ignore remote commands. I thought the problem went away when I did I a factory reset but it kept coming back and today the remote totally crashed. The only way I can control the receiver is manually. Do not know what to do next. Please help

Thank you.

I'm assuming you have check the batteries.:p

Take a digital camera and look at the IR transmitter LED through the display and see if it lights up when you hit a button. If it doesn't then something is wrong with remote. You can get a replacement for about $15 from HypermegaSAt.

I'm sorry I neglected to say that I have a second remote (universal) that I have programed to work with the Sathawk and it too has the same issues. The original remote powers on the unit and that is it. I do not want to call Sadoun just yet. I'm hoping to find an answer here before calling them.

It seems those problems have been resolved with the new version of the remote (version 3), so far available on only one site, better range, better button pad overall (the pad that's under the buttons, inside the remote), also, check if the IR bulb inside the receiver is not blocked and it's well positioned.

=)

Cheers

Mike

So, the firmware fixed the trouble with the supplied AND a 3rd party remote?

... hrmmm ....
Wonder if you read this interesting thread about the remote on (what I understand is) a twin of the SatHawk?
