Huh. FWIW I have 2 612's (and a 722) and I have not noticed any stuttering or pixelation or freezing. As my dad (may he rest in peace) used to say, "I guess I must be living right".
Eastern Arc or Western Arc? It could be a combination of the receiver model and which arc you are using. My sister is on Western Arc and had the problems with the ViP612 before upgrading to a ViP722k.My 612's have none of those problems. Knock on laminate.
