Problems updating to 7.1.2

I am having hard time updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1.2
It gets stuck for hours on Verifying the Update. A hard reboot takes me back to 7.1.1. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem updating my iPad too though it was stuck at a different point in the process. But in that case a hard reboot has actually completed the update.

I would try iTunes if OTA has failed multiple times.
