Problem with HD picture

Last Saturday I upgrade to HD and the picture was great. Over night Direct upgrade my system , now the picture is a far cry from when it was first installed the day before. I called Direct and the tech walked me through the set up to get my settings all back, but the picture is less than it was. His anwser to that was to give it more time to settle in. Well I have given it time and it's still not has good as when it was first installed. Could the upgrade that they did, do something to the receiver? I can't understand why they upgraded my system when everything was fine and working. I've had Voom and Comcast HD , this picture I'm getting now is far worse than either one. Any advice besides calling Direct will be helpful.

Maybe you need to ask for a service call to see what changed over night?
