I live in the USA and have a BEV 5200 (dual tuner PVR) with a subsciption through a family member in Canada.
The PVR is acting up with some problems:
- live TV seems to work fine, but you can't pause or back-up the show
- the recordings are very choppy and don't record the whole show
Current software version is 131.
I believe that there is a problem with the hard-drive. Questions:
1) can I replace the hard-drive with a common computer drive?
2) can I replace the hard-drive with one from a Dish unit?
3) can I purchase a hard-drive from any BEV unit and replace it? Or is there somewhere that I can buy genuine BEV spare parts?
4) for all above scenarios, will I have a software problem (i.e. will the unit work on BEV network)? I don't want to go through the hassle of calling BEV tech support since I am living in the USA.
Thanks.
