and switching to a HTPC with DVR and OTA tuner.
Thanks. I'm happy to keep getting my locals OTA.In a chat with billing back around the first of the month, I was told by a CSR that locals would be added to existing customers' accounts only if and when programming is changed. Based on that, if you stay with what you have, locals should not be automatically added.
OK I'm confused
As a new customer does the 1st receiver (if a dual tuner) have the 5 buck fee?
Everything I read says yes but Dish builder site says otherwise.
So is there the 5 buck fee for a dual tuner as the 1st (or only) receiver on the acct?
Why didn't you go for the free HBO/Showtime promotion? Seems like a "no brainer" to me.
I just finished a chat with DISH, asking about the $5 fee for not having a phone line connected. According to this guy, I still have to pay it... unless I signup for autopay.
They don't charge downgrade fees on free promotions.I don't watch them, don't want them, and don't want to pay a "downgrade fee" to cancel them after the 3 months is up.
I found out on the 1st receiver everything is rolled into the price so the 1st receiver does not have the $5 fee

Mar 01 - Mar 30 Service Plan (15/0) 6.00 -What is this??
Now in my case I was paying a $7 fee on my new 722, even though it was the primary (part of the deal for getting the new receiver and 2nd dish). But I was paying no DVR fees since the 722 replaced my no-DVR-fee 721. I'll be very interested in what Dish does with my next bill, but in any scenario it will still be less than Comcast, so I'm sticking around for a while.
