Pre-wired / networked new home question...

Just bought a new townhome with a "GE Smart Center" or something like that (forget exactly). Basically it is a central point for all phone/cable/DSS in my home. Connect the cable/DSS to this box and all the cable/DSS outles throughout the home are "live". I have a call in to the installer, but who knows if/when the guy will call me back. My question is...I'm going w/ DirecTV w/ a dual tuner Tivo. However in order to take advantage of it I need a separate cable run (as in 2 separate lines) in to the DirecTV receiver.

Is this possible using the pre-wired setup? Do I need a special splitter after it 'exits' the wall? Can I just use a regular splitter? Can it not be done and I'll have to have a line run the old fashioned way (through the ceilings/walls etc etc)?

splitter no, multiswitch yes.

My concern would be if the satellite signal would maintain enough strength going through the house then being split with the multiswitch. You may run into signal strength issues but I am sure there would be ways around it.
