Positive DISH feedback

I know it is much more popular to post negative experiences here, but I wanted to post a positive one. I have been a DISH customer for about 4 years. I had a 522 dual-dvr receiver, 811 HD receiver (no dvr), and a standard 211 receiver. I decided it was time to upgrade to a HD dvr receiver and get the the larger HD package with HD locals. I got the 722 dvr receiver for an upgrade of $199 (not the positive part of this post).

I had the installation sheduled for Sunday September 16 between 8:00am-12:00pm. I read several posts about installers not showing up (even after confirming the appointment) and about 722's not being available. I had already convinced myself that I would waste half a Sunday waiting for the installer only to have to reshedule. Much to my delight, he called about 9:30am and was about 10 minutes away. He showed up with all the appropriate equipment, was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable, and had everything up and running in about an hour (including new satellite dish installation). I know it has only been 3 days, but I am very happy with the quality of the picture from the 722 receiver and everything has worked flawlessly so far.

I know this doesn't help anybody out there, but I just wanted people to know there are good DISH experiences as well.

Thanks for the report. Yes, good installers do exist, and we need to see more positive posts.

I think it's the usual "I'm pissed so I'll post" syndrome. It's the same working in a support role at a company, all you hear is the bad news and the problems, and forget the majority of your customers are happy and not bugging you.

I have had Dish for 9 years with almost no problems. I had one upgrade install where the installer had the wrong equipment because the work order was wrong and one billing error where I was billed twice for a upgrade. Both of these issues were corrected without any problems. I have two 622s, a 211, and a 508 that have all worked without any major problems. Overall I have been very pleased with the service and the programming.
