Portions Under Construction

As you may or may not have noticed, I have started our November 1st forum upgrades. The biggest change so far is in our HDTV area, however we are not done with the changes and additions yet.

We still have more to do in our HDTV area, plus we are working on expanding other forums here at SatelliteGuys such as our DIRECTV area.

I will be continuing the expansion tommorow morning when I wake up (alarm is set for 5am)

When I clicked on View New Posts I had all sorts of posts show up under alt.tv.tech.hdtv and like never found the other posts and it timed out before I could get done with what I was reading. Is there a way that you could have a search option to search all new posts except the usenet/alt posts? I know I can just search Dish Network posts or just certain posts in other categories but it would be nice to edit out certain ones that creates so many posts.

As of this morning the newsgroups that were added have now been excluded from the new posts, so you shouldn't have any problems today.

How about a general "post a picture or two of your setup" for members, as has been discussed (and even tried once if I remember correctly) in the past? Depending on your storage and bandwidth, limit each member to 2 or 3 pictures (or more ) but maybe allow more for pub members. I would like to see others' pictures of their dish(es) and their receiver/TV setups. And that's what I'd post.

Actually as I type this I am trying to put in the Members Theater Photos features again, if I can't get it to work I may actually purchase a copy of Photo Post which will give members the ability to post their own photo albums.

Thank you for excluding the newsgroups from the New Posts selection. That has helped a LOT. Greatly appreciated and makes a HUGE difference.
