Popcorn Hour BD network playback

Ramy- When I used a network computer to serve the videos to PCH, I first put them all in the public folder under Videos sub folder and they showed up. Then I had a bunch of my production videos on an E: drive and after I shared that folder on that drive they still didn't show up. Found out there is a section in the settings you have to list that shared folder and save it. After a few minutes, the PCH sees that folder too. I'm not at my PCH to be more specific but hopefully you get the idea.

The settings you speak of are on the popcorn box or PC?

Ok, I finally got it to work after talking to Don Landis. Thanks Don. After I talked to you I browsed through the shared stuff the box could see and then highlighted the one I wanted and clicked the blue button to add it to the share list, typed in my username and password and BOOM! It showed up with everything there.

Congratulations getting up to speed. Keep an eye on your PCH box and let me know if you find the need to reboot it every other day or so. As soon as I get this current project finished, I plan to modify the PCH cover with some vent holes and a small fan. Mine really gets hot when playing from the internal drive. It's a 5400RPM 2Tb Seagate.

No more so that all the other equipment I have in the Home theater. The PCH is the only box I have that is totally sealed. The projector does have filters as dust is a serious issue with an optical path.

As long as you avoid the "authorized" players - i.e. having the Cinavia hardware component - you are safe.
At least until HDTVs start supporting it...

Also, sticking with the DTS track in your rips will eliminate the threat for the time being...

Hi guys, Im looking at the PH again because I really like the ISO playbacks Ive been doing on the Oppo 93, and the PH would offer more flexibility.

Can you rip direct from a blu PC drive straight to the PH HDD via a USB cable connected between the PC and PH, or is it more drawn out? Also, it seems the C-200 and C300 have a quick swap HDD dock. How quick is the swap, and how large of an internal HDD can it support?

Thanks.

Popcorn Hour

I'm looking at getting one of the new popcorn hour boxes, and I was wondering is this thing worth it? What I would like to do is box up all of my blur ay's and 3D bluray's and just play back via ISO on a NAS server. I have something like 200 plus bluray movies.
