That's a good price for a 1080p projector, but not that model. It's got the worst black levels of all the 1080p projectors.

I have sp4805 since 2005 still the same blub with 6000 hours,my trick is to reset the lamp hours at about 1900 hours and right down, and also i think infocus makes the best projectors hands down,I have no problems with this unit and it ranks with the best, and it can decode 1080I also, for 800.00 can't beat that.

Epson makes a damn good projector too. I bought my Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 720p projector for $800 in '07 and I've never had an issue.

Have not gone through the whole thread, but here is my setup. Been complete about a year now. Still has not lost the wow effect!

Mitsubishi HC 6000 projected on a Da-Lite Highpower @ 119".

I've got an OLD OLD OLD Phillips with a 10.00 work light bulb mod, gives great picture but may not be HD quality but it's better than what it replaced and it's a projector. The bulb mod cut the cost from 325.00/bulb when you can find them to 10.00 new hardware store or .50 garage sale and take two three minutes to change. I like the internet, information overload.

One thing about projectors: They are great for demonstrations. Everyone I have shown mine to has come away wanting one for their house too. People want to watch movies at your place.

Thinking about upgrading receiver

Denon owners, EQ question
