Ordered these to replace the Sony's in my little 3D room ... Polk Audio TSx 330T Tower Speaker - Black were on sale for $124 each from Amazon, Best Buy has them also...
I have always like the way Polk speakers sound. However, unless something has drastically changed in the last decade, they are power hogs. It takes so much power just to get them to move. At volume I will say they are some of the best sounding speakers out there for the money.
I have liked also, If I find I need more power I have 2 Carver Amps that when bridged will put our 500 watts per channel, (unbridged 250 per)I need to get a new pre-amp or figure out what's wrong with my Hafler ...
I always liked Polks sound. My first "good" speakers were some monitors and they really did a good job. Subs not so much, but their towers, etc, are nice.
One of the only rambling threads at AVS is the "Polkies" thread, good info there ... the local audio store (within a furniture store) has Klipsch exclusively now, used to have a variety, they sound pretty good but I kept coming back to the Polks sound.
Polk is def more warm if you will than the horns. One benefit of the Klipsch for HT is they do not require a lot of power to play loud and clean. Some of those real nice Polks are 4 ohms speakers and would def benefit from an amp.
