Okay I m totally new here and am looking for help with some questions. I am not at all tech savy so please bear with me. I do not know what a hopper or Joey is, or what they do. I have dish network in my house with 2 televisions hooked up to it and can record on both of them. I just built a polebarn 200 feet away from house, would like to put tv in man cave in barn. I would like to be able to watch my own programs in barn and do not need to record them from there but don't want to be forced into watching what is on in the house (like slingbox) How can I do this without adding another dish to polebarn roof and paying another 25-30$ monthly subscription. I have buried a cat cable underground and barn has wifi. Any suggestions. Looking for most economical way to do this.

You could add a dish to the pole barn and then add a receiver to that dish under your existing account. As long as it is the same property you can do this....
If (as it sounds like) you are a current Dish customer, your best bet might be to contact one of the DIRT folks that are on this forum. Explain to them exactly what you want and are trying to do. They should be able to make recommendations and place a possible order based on your conversation.
OK, so assuming you probably have a 722k or 612 DVR then right? Best to provide as much information about your setup as you can; Dish equipment, Internet speed and TV. This is a Hopper focused thread and not general Dish equipment so I will offer my suggestions around a Hopper.
Upgrade to a new Dish Hopper 3 or Hopper w/Sling. They have Sling built in. It also will allow you to connect Joeys. The Hopper is simply like any DVR you have already. Watch TV, record, etc... But these Hoppers offer more features, H3 has more processing power and tuners (16), Netflix, etc... Think of the Joeys as slave devices that connect to the main Hopper to get their TV channel, watch the recordings, etc... Joeys are smaller, have no tuners (except Super Joeys) and do not store recordings on them.

1. With that said, since you state you have a hard wired Ethernet cable in your barn you could opt to then get what is known as a wireless Joey for the barn. It allows you to connect to the main Hopper (in the house) either via the private wireless connection the wireless Joey system creates or using a hard wired Ethernet cable. This is not the same home wireless network you have so your barn wifi will not work for this. I do not think the wireless signal between the Joey and Hopper may be powerful enough over 200' feet but the ethernet connection on the Joey will work. I have a wireless Joey myself and do NOT use the wireless connection. I connect via the Ethernet cable to my home network and works perfectly.
2. Do not know what type of TV you have, but if you had a new Hopper 3 or w/Sling, a Samsung mobile device (phone or tablet) and a Samsung TV you could use the mobile device on wifi in your barn (with a good, Internet connection) to connect to the Hopper via the DishAnywhere app. You can then tune into one TV tuner to watch what you want (and it does not have to be the same live TV that is being watched in the house Hopper) or watch a recording. You would then use the Samsung screen mirroring feature to play what is on your mobile device on the TV. You may however see some stuttering if the wifi connection is not good. At work I do this exact thing in the building's workout room. They have a Samsung TV and pretty good wifi. I connect to my home Hopper 3, mirror my Samsung phone screen and watch recordings I have or live TV (since the gym only has basic Direct TV channels and SD, uggh).
3. With the right devices hooked up to your dish, you could run a dedicated coax to your barn like you did the cat cable (hoping it is cat 5e or better yet cat 6).

You did absolutely nothing "wrong" - you were/are looking for help and there is a wealth of that here - lots of knowledgeable people on this board and this forum.
This is the simplest option and what I would do. There are actually technical limits as to how long of a cable run can be made from the dish to a receiver and if I'm not mistaken, it's coincidentally 200'.
Dish won't be very helpful in setting up a situation like this. At best, what one could do is add a simple receiver, like a 211, and let them install it in your current house. You may get it pretty cheap or even free if you agree to a contract extension. After that's taken care, purchase a dish/LNB, cable, and connectors and set things up at the barn.
I was trying to avoid having another unsightly dish mounted on new barn, and paying another $35/month.
Pole-mount it in the ground.

Like Hall said, put it on a pole. You should do that with a metal building with a metal roof anyway. The cost would be an additional $7 a month for a 211 receiver.
