I got my 61.5 dish installed today for cleveland locals. Flipping through channels, I noticed a replay of a football game on Big 10 Network. The PQ was unbelievably bad...everytime there was a play, it looked like the game was being played under strobe lights. I did a point dish and noticed I was getting signal for Big10 from 61.5. Is there any way that I can change some setting to make my channels come from 129, and if I did that, would it make a difference?

No, that doesn't really sound like a signal issue. Sounds more like a source issue. Have you checked again to make sure that it is like that all the time?

I'm not a videophile, but the other channels look fine (but theres no other fast moving sports on to compare it to). The game is almost unwatchable because the strobing makes you dizzy. Could E* be starving it of bitrate (???) b/c its an RSN playing a game from the fall?

It's hard to tell what might be happening, but remember it does not mean that it is Dish's fault. The CBS affiliate here looks terrible during NFL games OTA. Picture gets very pixalated during fast motion.

Big 10 didn't have very good PQ to begin with so it could just be the channel. How is the PQ you are getting from other channels?

What?? I disagree. Big Ten PQ was great at lauch and through the football season. I didn't watch much during BB season, but what I did watch seemed ok.

They did a much better job launching the channel than NFL. They don't even have an HD studio.

If you are talking about the football game that was on last night, that was upconvert. Was not hd.

Big Ten Network has very good PQ!!!

Is that a CBS issue? Tampa CBS SD sporting events are almost unwatchable the PQ is so bad. Dish, Direct and Comcast all have the same awful image. Grainy and under saturated (is there even such a thing). I do not know about motion blur, because standing still everything is a blur.

Odd Signal Loss problem....SAT 119

Channel ????
