Please help ASAP with Elevation & Closest Sat!

Hi there ...I am new! I have purchased a motorized Large 90 cm Dish with Stab router and coolsat 5000 reciever and invacom quad. Please help with these settings:

I am in Ottawa, ONTARIO Canada - POSTAL CODE K1C 2H4
Need:
1. Closest satellite to me.
2. Elevation angle of rotor.
3. Elevation value of Dish.

ASAP would be appreciated, I have been trying with no success for a while now... Any other tricks of the trade or advice that would help!.

Closest satellite to south would be SBS 6 @ 74ºw

Your lat. and Long. Latitude 45° 0.000'N Longitude 75° 0.000'W

What Stab motor do you have? It matters! The motor elevation should be the same as your Lat. (45º)


Biggest trick is to find and store your true south satellite BEFORE adding the motor. Here are the angles to ALL the satellites in your area WITHOUT the motor.

Fortec 35" (90cm) Dish
[90cm KU Band Packages=90cm Dish, Invacom quad L/C LNB, and STAB HH90 Rotor

38.2º for the dish elevation when on the motor..........

Make sure the L.O. is set to 10750 for the Linear outputs of the QPH-031 Invacom

I mentioned in another thread that IF you know your lat/lon, which you can find on Google, Lyngsat's satfinder for any particular satellite will provide the azmith & elevations.

What kind of problems are you having? Let us know...we can help =)

Here are some things to think about;

1. try setting it up without the motor first, this will give you an idea of the kind of adjustments that have to be made, they are TINY. it is also INFINATLY easier to setup a stationary dish.

2. Sadoun has a great page with pointing info for motorized setps.

this will help you to figure out all the differant angles.

3. With FTA you need plenty of patients, seriously, it took me over a week to get my first motorized setup right. 1/8 of an inch in any direction (even smaller sometimes) can make a differance of TV or No TV.
