Plating WMV files on a Mac?

So what's the best method for playing WMV videos on my Mac? I'm a new Mac user and I keep getting emails from friends with video attachments that I can't get to play. I found a site that has a "flip 4 mac, WMV player", but I don't know anything about it. Any suggestions?

Go to macupdate and download VLC, and forget Quicktime, but if you must use it download perian. ron
