Pictures of 1000.2 Dish

Well, I couldn't find much information up on here about the new 1000.2 dish, so I thought I would post some. This is just preliminary stuff, and mainly just pictures, but thought it might be useful to someone. Now, please don't ask me to do a comparison to a normal Dish 1000 system to see if I get better signal strengths, because I am a new install and the only other Dish Network Dish I have laying around is an old Dish 500 Legacy. But, for now here are some pictures of it installed on the side of my house. I have to take it down to redo some wiring that the installer didn't do a very good job with, so when I do that next week I will take some more pictures and even do some measurements and such. But, for now...here are some pictures to enjoy.

How did you get a hold of the new dish 1000.2? I thought it wasn't released yet. How is the signal on your main sats 110/119 and 129? It should be much better since the dish is what 36 inches and the mast is longer right? Did you buy it yourself and how much. DETAILS please.....

I also didn't know that the 1000.2 dish was released yet. Is this the replacement to the 1000 or another option like the Dish Plus dishes?

I think it is another option for the areas that are having trouble with the 129 sat.

It just came out bout a week or so ago. It is a replacment for the 1000, due to low 129. Not all area's have the new LNB though. Some have to use 3 DP Duals.

Guys, I will get back to you with all your questions as soon as I can. My wife went into labor last night, so I am making a quick pit stop at my house for a nap before heading back to the hospital. But, as to the one question as to where I got it from. I did not buy it or special order it, that is just what the installer showed up with for my install back at the end of December.

Ok, guys. I am back home now from the hospital and all went well. I will probably get out tomorrow and redo the cabling and adjust the signal levels some. I will get many more pictures and post my signal levels when I am done.

I found out that the cost of the 1000.2 is the same as the legacy 1000 dish. Looks like the 1000.2 is the replacement and it will be the standard dish now for many markets.

Ok, here are some more pictures of the Dish when I took it down. I redid the wiring this afternoon. I will post up my signal strengths from all Satellites later on (probably sometime later this week when I get a chance.)

How much bigger is the pan of the dish 1000.2 than the regular dish 1000? If the price is the same as the dish 1000 I already have, I want one.

As to the dish, it almost looks like the LNB could fit on a standard "Y" bracket if the bracket were trimmed a touch. Do you happen to have a Y bracket to see if it does fit?

It was a Boy. He was born January 14, 2007 @ 12:37, and weighed a whopping 8 lbs. 13 ounces. As for signal strengths. I will get those as soon as I get back from Hunter's first doctors appointment. I was planning on posting up the signal strengths on all of the transponders on 129, and then a few sporadic ones for 110 and 119. What transponders should I look at for 110 and 119??
