Picture size on TVs

Hello, I finally had Dish installed yesterday on 4 TVs in the house; and I have spent some time last night and tonight watching TV. I have a 622, and a 625. I have noticed that the picture on the TVs connected to the 622 is larger than the tv can display. On the HDTV (52" rear projection), the guide is cut off on left and right sides, with words going into space; for the non widescreen channels, the top/bottom seem to be cut off slightly, as I lose parts of the the logos for some channels. For TV2, the same thing but not as bad. The 625 appaers to be fine, however I haven't watched that one as much.

If it matters, I have an adapter to turn the HDMI into DVI to connect to my TV.

Also, one additional question; with my old HD receiver (Com*), I had it set so that whatever the image size was, it would always fill the screen, so programs with black bars would be stretched to fill the whole screen. Does the 622 have this feature? (Mostly concerned about burn in of the black bars)

Thanks.

Couple thing I would check.

Hit menu 6 >> 8. Set tv type to your tv preferred input or what looks best to you. Aspect ratio should be set to 16x9.

Use the # on the remote when watchin tv to cylce throught the different formats. HD channels should be on Normal and for SD channel us normal or stretch. Whichever you prefer.

Yep it is either an aspect problem (press the * button as already discussed) or it is an overscan problem with your TV. If this is the case then you need to have the TV calibrated to adjust the overscan.

How do I calibrate the TV? Is it something I can do my self, or do I have to take it to a service center. I've ran the autoconverge feature, which is supposed to readjust the beams so they only project on the screen, but this didn't change anything, so I guess the calibration is different?

Thanks.

You would need a tech to do a calibration. Did you check the HD settings in Menu 6 >> 8?

If you are having a similar problem with TV2, then I'd say it is not a calibration problem. FYI, DLP or LCD rear projection TVs do not burn in, just plasma, flat panel LCD or CRT's.

Also, make sure the HDTV settings are set at 1080, they miss that on alot of installs, then check you TV and make sure if it has Aspect settings, the are set in real mode/normal/16:9

Calibrations should be done at the location where the set is viewed. This is especially true for CRTs.

Yes, the HD is set at 1080i, 16x9. Its kind of like at the movie theater when the projected image bleeds onto the wall beside the screen, but its inside the TV. I've read that its possible to use the service menus to adjust the overscan settings of the TV; and I've found the service manual for my TV. Is this something that I should pay a professional to do, or is it relatively straight forward?

Also, I definitely have some form of burn in. I have bars about 5in wide on either side of the TV screen, right outside of where the non widescreen content shows up. They are only visible when I am watching widescreen stuff and there is a bright, light color there, like white. They show up as an off yellow.
