I purchased a used Sat Buddy 2 today just because I couldn't pass it up, and have a couple of questions.
I read through the operations guide and that all seems pretty straight forward.
I assume that the meter picks up on a transponder (unknown to the operator which one) and tells the signal strength.
1. Can you select a certain transponder in the receiver, and the meter picks up on that TP only?
2. If so, can you switch polarity in the receiver and it will only pick up on that polarity?
It can also be used independently from the receiver. In independent mode, it will only switch a 22Khz switch, and or be used to select diseqc ports.
3. How does it know which polarity you want to tune if not using a multi-switch or receiver?
I guess that's it for now.
Any help in understanding how it works would be greatly appreciated.
