After the wonderful time at the party last night, I had an interesting day, to say the least. I made it back okay, but my day started off on an ominous note.
For starters, when I Google-mapped the route from where I was staying to my cousin's house before I left, Google changed the "St." to "Ct."... So, at 8:07am on Sunday morning, I'm ringing the doorbell of some guy's house (woke him, I did!) and he did not seem amused. Time to whip out the mobile and get my cuz on the phone. Turns out I need to be about 12 miles further north!
The good news is, I was able to visit my two cousins for about an hour and showed them a video I had recorded of my brother and sister saying "Hi". I brought back a recording to play back to my sibs. The bad news? In the rush to get going to the airport, I left my wife's 5th Gen iPod at my cousin's house (it had the video postcard)! Argh.
And as anyone who went through there will tell you, DIA was a zoo with all the CEDIA attendees leaving (especially if you flew United). Fortunately, I was able to get my boarding pass printed at the hotel so I didn't need to deal with those lines at check-in. I made it to my gate with 25 minutes to spare. After that, it was pretty smooth sailing.
I'll upload my photos when I get a chance (need to reduce some of those red-eyes!) but here's the group photo in front of the banner. Comparing the picture quality from Scott's Nikon to my Olympus C-765, I notice how much "grain" my camera has. Time to upgrade my camera!
