Phone Line Question

Just a quick question. Why di I need to hook up a phone line to my 722 if It is hooked up to the internet? Seems kinda dumb, and what is error e09?

If you've successfully connected to the Internet, you don't need the phone line. You may be having problems getting connected depending on how your connection is brought to the box - using wireless bridges can sometimes be complicated, for example.
