The Dish Network ViP922 Slingloaded DVR... it's could be one of the most amazing satellite receivers ever produced. The 922 is the start of merging Satellite and The Internet together in one easy to use box.

I personally have never been so excited by any other satellite receiver in my life.

With that said I am very hopefull that I will soon be obtaining a 922 beta unit. I will be t esting this unit with pride and will do my best to find and report any bugs or issues I see in order to make this a true world class product.

With that said when I do get my beta 922 I will NOT be reporting on it anywhere on SatelliteGuys. The time for me to report on it will be when the unit is officially released to the general public.

For me to report on the beta 922 woould be a disservice to everyone involved with the 922 since it is a beta.

So with that said please do not ask me here, pm me or email me asking my thoughts on the 922.

Again I will report my honest thoughts on the 922 when it is release to the general public, but for now my mission (besides getting a 922) is to test the unit in the hopes of helping to make the best DVR ever.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Not a problem Scott.

With that said, how about other Beta testers? Can they post what they find on the site or would you prefer they wait?

Other beta testers are free to post here about the 922 in this forum (and only in this forum... I don't want search bot indexing Beta bugs. :))

However if your an independent tester that has signed a NDA with Dish I would refrain from posting here.

I'll have to ask my local dealer. He signed up to test it, but doesn't have the time. He's going to let me take it home and play with it.

Oh, you are will be our eyes and ears !

I guess you will be not on obligation to keep your mouth shut. ;) And will post anything what you'll find.

Not to get off topic with this thread, but if you will look at DISH (Dish Network) and SATS (Echostar) latest 10-Q's as of 3/31/2009 you will see on their balance sheets that they have in cash and cash equivalents $263,936,000 and $147,517,000 respectively. This is an aggregate total of $411,480,000 in total for these "CLOSELY" related companies. In other words, they can pay Tivo off and still have cash left over.
Of course, they will either agree to a settlement and royalty fee, or Echostar or Dish Network will acquire Tivo.
I would not be surprised for one of Charlie's companies to come to some agreement to acquire Tivo.
At any rate, both of these companies have a healthy balance sheet and you do not have to worry about your DVR being "cut off." That would be a death blow to both concerns.
