I was driving around my neighborhood today and saw a single-lnb dish that had a pegasus logo on it. It appeared to be pointed at directv's 101. Has anybody heard about Pegasus or is it just a manufacturer of dishes?

Pegasus (Pegasuck) use to be a reseller of DirecTv, mostly in rural areas. You had to go through them and they had different pricing. If I remember right, if you had a DVR you got a bill for Pegasus and one from DirecTV just for the DVR.

In MN if you didnt live in a major area (Minneapolis/St Paul/suburbs, St Cloud, rochester or Duluth) you had Pegasus.

I got into the satellite business about a year before Pegasus went away. They were in about 15% of the area I covered "the Starkville-Columbus area" and were a pain in the ass to deal with. I believe they charged a royalty fee of 5 dollars.

when Primestar was bought out by Direct, our area was Pegasuck. Even though we were in the Mpls DMA (and locals were avaialble), we couldn't get them

how screwed up is that?

[TWC] Does Timewarner charge per dvr?
