Peacock TV

Back to the bundle in just 10 years! Funny, I want access to the WEC events on Max, but don't want to pay for the other stuff. We'll be back to square 1 in about two years, just without the expensive equipment in the home, and everyone will be whining about how they want a la carte back.

No one is being forced to buy the bundle, if you still want Netflix, but not Peacock, still can do so.

Unlike Paid Live TV, where you are forced to pay for all those channels you would never watch, or extra for a channel you do not care about, like the RSNs.

Well, this merger is a big nothing-

Comcast's CEO announced plans for StreamSaver, an upcoming bundle of Peacock, Apple TV+ and Netflix that will be available starting this month only to Comcast's broadband, TV and mobile subscribers.

So to the majority of the public, you can still purchase them separately ( and only do that).

I am in the same boat as you. I got the Peacock $20 deal for a year on Black Friday, and the $20 will go a long way - got me the Christmas weekend NFL exclusive and the exclusive wild card game this past season, and will get the Packers/Eagles exclusive this year, will also get the Big 10 football season, as well as Tour de France, Track and Field Olympic qualifiers, and the Olympics. To me that $20 was worth it, but these new prices I am not even going to consider it.
Last year I signed up for the $20 Black Friday Peacock deal, and immediately cancelled it so it would expire, and it expired a couple of days ago. Today I was offered another year of Peacock at $20 for a year, and I took it. Everything until 11/25/2025. Once again, the $20 is well worth it.

That's peacocks deal this year. Got same deal

Question about Peacock - I see that on "Two and a Half Men" that there was 28 days left to watch. Does that mean it is completely disappearing from Peacock on January 1? If so, where will it go? If not, what does the 28 days left to watch mean? Is there a higher level tier I would have to pay for?

Must be leaving. I pay for the no commercial version of Peacock and it says the same thing. It might be going to Max as it's a WB show.

Thanks for checking. I didn't realize it was a WB show - I always thought it was a CBS show as it aired on CBS, and would end up on Paramount+.

Some news on the NBC RSNs, soon to air on Peacock-

Comcast is targeting the first half of 2025 for the launch of their NBC Sports-branded RSNs via Peacock, according to two sources who spoke with The Desk last week on condition of anonymity. The streamer plans to charge between $10 to $15 per month for access to its RSNs in Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco and Sacramento, where subscribers will be able to watch locally-televised games from the Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Celtics, San Francisco Giants, San Jose Sharks, Sacramento Kings and other professional sports franchises, along with related shoulder programming.

I am not sure what happened here, but Two and a Half Men is still on Peacock for me today. NBC must have decided to keep the series on Peacock.

Probably a new licensing agreement.

As a Giants and Sharks fan, it's ridiculous that i would have to pay $18 each for NBCSN Bay Area and NBCSN California. I know there's some network ownership stuff involved that complicates it, but this is a prime example of two networks that should be combined and charging $24 like the Philly one is. (Let's be honest, nobody's paying $18 or $24, but just for the sake of argument)

One thing that bugs me, that I thought was my internet's fault, but after streaming a 4K movie, low compression with almost no buffering, Peacock's app blows when it comes to buffering. It can't handle intermittent loss of signal like nearly every other app.

I watch a lot of shows on the Peacock app and I have no issues at all. I don't seem to get intermittent loss of signal as well.

What do you mean by loss of signal? Loss of Internet connection to your location? Loss of Wi-Fi signal? Loss of signal from the live source to Peacock's servers? I haven't noticed Peacock buffering any more or less than any other app recently. I rarely see any buffering at all any more.

It might be the version of the app on your streaming device or an option in the streaming device...look for updates for the app..I dunno which streaming device you use..But when roku does a system software update..that very often causes issues with apps optimized for the older software...just a thought

It helps to name and the age of the device you are streaming with.
