Thumb (USB) drives aren't going away anytime soon. Maybe someday. Cloud computing isn't going to always be available or desired.
And I certainly think CDs and optical media in general will hang on a few more years. Internet access isn't always available or fast enough. And owning your medium has it's appeal- works without the internet!
Dumb phones will be around for many years. There's a lot of people who simply want a phone, nothing more. Heck, I still run into people who don't have or want cell phones.

I haven't read the list yet (opened it in a new tab) but no one here has mentioned or agreed with them by saying Blackberry will be gone. They're on that list, yes ?
Yes Blackberry is on the list and I do agree that they will soon be a thing of the past.
I call wrong; at least the near future on:
1. Flash Drives
2. Vid Cams & MP3 Players
3. Dedicated GPS
4. CDs
5. DVD (I assume this means Blu-ray as well?)

How lame.... Hasn't HP and Adobe announced the ending of WebOS and Flash ? Hardly difficult for PCMag to predict !
If RIM goes away, doesn't that mean their Playbook will go with it ?
Video cameras, MP3 players, point and shoot cameras, dedicated GPS, DVD players and discs, and feature phones aren't going away. I think PCMag wants them to, but it ain't happening.
I won't disagree about the 3D glasses ! I'd put 3D TVs to my list

heh its funny to see Clear on the list.....because its true. They're crap. I worked for them for a couple months and it was a joke.

They thought because we were in Mall of America we'd be shooting out product left and right. Sorry but that doesn't work at MOA when most folks are visitors from oddball spots and not "local"
I noticed the one location is closed now...gee wonder why? The fact that a mile west of the mall there was no service so most of your potential customer base there couldnt use the product?
Well when you have a regional manager who supposedly had all these credentials....but the one credential she never spoke of. The fact she was an ex-porn actress

3d glasses aren't going to die anytime soon. The technology behind 'glassessless' 3d (parallax barrier) that they use on the nintendo 3ds and htc evo 3d do not scale in any useful way to a large screen in a living room or theater. RealD style polarization glasses are the best technology right now with no successor on the horizon.
I also remember reading somewhere that the phasesout of the CD is slated for 2013-2014

Sort of in both cases.
Adobe announced they were stopping development of flash for mobile platforms. Long term, I think it's the beginning of the end.
HP is releasing WebOS into the public domain. What happens to it going forward is unknown, but I expect it to basically die away.

Particularly since they cannot zoom (real zoom - optical zoom)
Being and avid skier, motorcycle rider, cyclists, and mountain biker, there is one thing I see common in all of these activities and is become more and more popular, digital cameras attached to helmets. These are technically point and shoot digital cameras with pretty decent HD video capture inside a water proof clear plastic protective case.
