My neighbor (granny) has a dp301 (what the menu says) and is paying for Top 200, but only has one lnb dish 300. I called today to try to get 2 things, a uhf reciever so she can change channels from her bedroom. and the answer was either upgrade to a DVR, that's the only UHF recievers we have now, or buy a $50 uhf kit. So we passed on those.
2nd Since I noticed she only recieved one sat and was paying for more channels than she can get, Dish should supply a free upgrade dish/lnb to recieve those channels. Nope $99 w/o commitment, or $59 w/18mo commitment. She's had this dish for as long as I can remmber, 8-10yrs plus. So is there a free upgrade route?

If now, what switch is needed if I hang another dish for her, and what channels are we missing on 110?

Thanks

There was a free upgrade route for years but she didn't take advantage of it. Now she has to pay or do an upgrade such as HDTV the requires an upgradeed dish.

Or drop to AT100 and forget the upgrade.

Unfortunatly she "needs" her game show & foxsports channels. :(

I skimmed the 110 list, and didn't see anything shes missing that she needs. Just sucks paying for somethinig you can't get. but not my money/problem! Just thought I'd try since I was visiting for the day.:)

Yeah that is the way it is now, there was the free upgrade for years. Since she didn't do it now she has to pay, which really isn't that bad, but that is the way it is and I don't agree either. Maybe you can find a used dish 500 somewhere and do it yourself or get a friend to help.

My grandmother was the same way. She was paying for the AT120 which is now AT200 of course, and only had a 300, so I took a used dish I had laying around and upgraded her myself.

National Geographic HD a la carte?

Can I use a 5.0 and a 6.0 to control TV1 on a 625?
