Passcode reset

Greetings!

I have a Sony SAT-B65A receiver in my kids room. It works wonderfully and really do not want to replace it.

I have stumbled into a slight problem. It looks like the kids have programmed a pass code and locked the system. Of course they can not remember what they did.

Is there a way to do a hard reset to the box and set the pass code back to nothing?

And how do we know you're not the kid trying to get past his parents' pass code?

No.. The account holder can call DirecTV to get it reset.
